The Object Of The Contract Is The Collection Of Abandoned, Lost, Injured And Dead Animals As Well As Those That For Reasons Of Social Emergency, Court Order, Police Commission Or Other Nature It Is Considered Necessary To Collect Within The Municipal Terms Of The Councils Attached To The Service With Suitable Means And In A Continuous And Systematic Way As Well As The Reception And Maintenance Of Companion Animals (Dogs, Cats And Ferrets), In Accordance With The Criteria Determined By The County Council. In Relation To The Collection And Care Of Animals, Law 7/2023, Of March 28, On The Protection Of The Rights And Welfare Of Animals In Its Article 22 Says: - The Collection Of Lost And Abandoned Animals And Their Accommodation In An Animal Protection Center Will Correspond To The Municipalities. For This Reason, They Must Have An Emergency Service For The Collection And Veterinary Care Of These Animals, Available Twenty-Four Hours A Day. This Management May Be Carried Out Directly By The Competent Municipal Services Or By Private Entities, Without Prejudice To The Fact That, Whenever Possible, It Is Carried Out In Collaboration With Animal Protection Entities. - In The Terms Established By Regional Legislation, This Responsibility Can Be Transferred To The Groups Of Municipalities, Or, Where Appropriate, To The Provincial And Regional Councils, The Cabildos And Insular Councils Or To The Autonomous Communities And The Cities Of Ceuta And Melilla. - To Carry Out This Management And Care, The Municipalities Must Have Their Own Service, Joint Or Agreed, In The Terms Established In Article 23.
