Proparco and ACEP Niger support entrepreneurs in Niger
The CFAF 1.5 billion loan granted by AFD Group to Niger's second largest microfinance institution will support a clientele made up of small entrepreneurs, mainly in the retail sector.

Created in 2012 thanks to AFD's support, ACEP Niger has become in less than a decade a major contributor to financial inclusion in the country, recognized in particular for its responsible practices and its commitment to the best international standards. This institution is part of the pan-African group ACEP, a historical partner of AFD Group, which is now present in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Madagascar and Niger.

This operation should enable ACEP Niger to deliver micro-loans to more than 35 000 small entrepreneurs. It will thus contribute to Sustainable Development Goals 1 (poverty reduction), 8 (decent work and economic growth), and 10 (reduction of inequalities).

This operation confirms AFD Group's commitment to operate both in fragile areas and in support of MSMEs in Africa via the Choose Africa initiative.
